Frost Crashes His Truck. Misfortune Abounds.

On my way to work today, the brakes went out on my truck.
I went off the road. Big mess. Killed a tree.
Popped a brake line near the rear differential.

Had the truck towed home, called into work.

Went online to look up auto parts store.
Got an update notification.
"Upgraded" Windows XP to Service Pack 3
Wireless network adapter no longer works. Can't get online anymore.

Made some phone calls. Got on my bicycle and left home.
Went to Alix's place using her laptop to download new drivers.

Brand new USB drive didn't work. Totally dead. Pissed. Used alternate drive from work.

Biked back uphill to install new drivers. Downloaded the incorrect drivers.
Got back on bike and went back down the hill to Alix's place to hunt down the actual drivers.

Biked even farther to get to auto parts store where I unloaded my wallet.

New drivers worked. But now the wireless network is asking for a key, which I didn't personally set, and haven't used for almost a year. No friggin' idea how to get back onto the household network.

Picked up a new brake line and a bender tool from the auto parts store. Biked home.
All of the parts under the truck were rusted together, so getting the old line off was no fun at all. I opened my knuckles really good... blood + rust + dirty old brake fluid = OUCH.

New brake line was the wrong diameter. Biked BACK to the auto parts store again, got the right line, biked back home.

Installed new brake line, added brake fluid, bled the line.

Got back inside the house, only to find that one of my roommates had been home the whole time, shut up in her room, watching Oprah. I could have used her computer, asked her for the network key, and probably borrowed her car to go get parts.

Today blows. Drinking, now.
